Meet some of the country’s newest park rangers. They’re smart, hardworking, and covered in fur. They’re puppies! They’ll work at Denali National Park in Alaska. The four dogs were born this past spring. They are named Acadia, Mammoth, Rainier, and Sequoia. The pups were named after national parks.

The puppies will join Denali’s sled dog teams. These dogs work together to pull sleds. They carry human rangers and supplies across the park. Many areas of Denali are hard to travel through in the winter. Snowmobiles can break down in heavy, slushy snow. But pups can run right through it.

“Dogsledding is the most efficient way to get around,” says David Tomeo. He’s one of the pups’ trainers.
