Many kids will soon turn off the TV and put away their favorite video games. That’s because May 5 to 11 is Screen-Free Week. People promise to go seven days without using any screens for fun. The goal is to spend time outside and connect with others.
Many experts say taking a break from screens can be good for kids. After all, spending too much time on digital devices can make it hard for kids to focus. It can also prevent them from getting enough sleep.
But not everyone thinks kids need to go completely screen-free. Some people say screen time is OK for kids as long as they don’t overdo it.
