What is Memorial Day?
U.S. Navy
For many, Memorial Day is the holiday that kicks off summer. But it has a deeper meaning. On the last Monday of every May, we honor people who died serving in the U.S. military.
Americans take part in parades and visit military graves. Some also attend air shows where the Blue Angels perform. These expert pilots are part of the U.S. Navy, and they’re famous for their flying skills.
On Memorial Day weekend, the Blue Angels fly in honor of the military heroes who gave their lives for our country.
