Meet SlothBot!

Most robots help speed things up. But SlothBot was built to move as slowly as a sloth— and to look like one too! The robot moves on a cable hung between trees. By lingering over an area for a long time, SlothBot can observe animals for months, or even years. Scientists hope that SlothBot gathers information that could help them protect endangered species one day.

Think About It

Why do you think scientists made the robot look like a sloth? Can you think of another animal that might be a good choice?
