AGE:

8

HOMETOWN:

Henderson, Nevada

WHAT SHE DID:

Hailey was born with three fingers missing from her right hand. But students at a college made her an artificial hand using a 3-D printer. That’s a device that prints objects instead of just ink on paper. The new hand lets Hailey grab and hold things.

Hailey, who loves baseball, decided to use her hand for a special mission. She wanted to throw out the first pitch at games at all 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) stadiums! MLB was happy to help her with that mission. It took her several years, but Hailey reached her goal. In September, she threw out a pitch at Angel Stadium in California—the last stadium on her list.

WHY SHE DID IT:

Hailey wanted to show that using a 3-D printed hand doesn’t slow her down.

HAILEY SAYS:

“I want other kids to see that if I can do this, they can reach for their goals too.”
